Kalamy (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and otherwise handle your information when you use our desktop application and web platform (collectively, the “Service”).
When you create a Kalamy account, we collect your email address. An email is required only if you wish to use Pro features or save your translation history across devices. We do not require your name, phone number, or any personally identifiable information beyond email.
When you use Kalamy to translate, improve, rephrase, or explain text, that text (your clipboard content) is processed by third-party APIs:
Kalamy does not store your clipboard text. Your original text is never written to our database. To avoid redundant AI calls and reduce latency, Kalamy caches AI responses server-side for up to 30 days. Only the AI output is stored — your original text is irreversibly hashed (SHA-256) before use as a cache lookup key and cannot be recovered from that hash. Cached results are not linked to any user or device.

Translation requests are sent to Google's API. Google may retain data for service improvement purposes according to their privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and use of the Service is at your own risk.

We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy here and updating the “Last updated” date.
